No one takes Agile seriously in the team

You walk into the daily stand-up and realize…

The team talks about tasks, not teamwork.

Everyone says they are ‘Agile’, but still work in silos.

Stand-ups sound like status meetings, and retros feel like routines.

Teams hesitate to experiment or challenge old habits.

Management wants to see increased velocity in every sprint.

Stakeholders still believe Agile is just a meeting every day.

As a Scrum Master, you are fighting a lonely battle to turn Agile from a checklist into a culture.

How Great Scrum Masters make a difference?

1) Educate through experience – Show Agile value by solving real delivery pains. Educate about team work and agile mindset.

2) Build trust – Influence grows when people see you care about them, not just the process.

3) Expose system gaps -Use transparency to make system and team issues visible to leadership without blame.

4) Drive small improvements – Start with one improvement per sprint and show the result. Momentum inspires belief.

5) Coach and don’t command – Help teams discover their own solutions, that will enable the ownership in the team.
